ARTIST'S DESCRIPTION
This #MRasheedCartoons image was inspired by a post I saw a few weeks ago where a celebrity casually mentioned that the mask she wore all the time was so disgusting. I made a note to maybe caricature it as a gag later, but didn't get the motivation until the other day when I was discussing a cosplay performance by someone who dressed as Stephen King's Annie Wilkes character from his Misery novel. The cosplay actor stood out to me because she not only dressed up per King's description instead of as Kathy Bate's interpretation, but she did such a great job I actually recognized what she was doing almost instantly.

Anyway, as I later contemplated the performance, I started thinking about the novel and how Annie was in the story. She was DISGUSTING, and the association reminded me of that celebrity with the horrifying coronavirus mask hygiene habits (or lack thereof). Basically, I caricatured Annie Wilkes with the mask, is what I'm trying to say. lol
