This #MRasheedCartoons image is inspired by an FB thread where a bunch of individual bootstrapper strivers responded in the affirmative to the original post asking if people agreed with the idea of personal success being more important than group uplift.
The problem is that the Black American former slave class ethnic group was purposely indoctrinated into the individualist mindset as a way of making it easier to disenfranchise and subjugate us -- similar to how our stolen ancestors were deliberately cut off from our original cultures/languages to make us more effective chattel. The selfish, "greed is good!" individualist mindset goes hand-in-hand with the crabs in the barrel anti-unity mindset needed for effective politicking so we can uplift our group. Such a mindset is NOT organic to us, but is a virus brainwashed into us to prevent us from fighting for competitive economic equality at the highest level.
