CITATION
Rasheed, Muhammad. "That Tell-Tale Sign." Cartoon. The Official Website of Cartoonist M. Rasheed 15 May 2020. Pen & ink w/Adobe Photoshop color.

Eric Zurawski - Sharing the wealth seems like the "easiest" first step (Land and Rule, i have no idea how that gets figured); i read on the ADOS site they estimate the amount owed is 8.4 trillion dollars. I didn't see anywhere how many people are estimated to be ADOS. Is there a number? Just curious how much everyone would get and would it be satisfactory? Is there a goal number per person, monetary-wise? I like your cartoons, they make me think and make me uncomfortable for what white folks did and do.

If it were easy, it would’ve been done in the late 1860s. There’s a barrier of bitter resentful white racists in the way.

LAND - They just have to return the land that was stolen and stop blocking Black Americans from buying what they want and stop hiking up the prices when they see it’s a Black person trying to buy. Just basic, civilized, normal human stuff, Eric. That’s what’s been missing.

RULE - The equal sharing of rule means to stop with all the vote suppression, redlining, etc. Stop politically disenfranchising us; this is our country, too, and we deserve to be in the process with everyone else.

It’s closer to $20 trillion.

Approximately 40 million.

The entire point of a Reparations Program is to close the racial wealth gap that has been unfairly widened by centuries of race-based economic oppression. Massive cash infusions and New Deal-type programs designed to cure Black American poverty once and for all and economically include us in a protected ownership class so we will never be in danger of being poor again. The great wealth of the “greatest nation on earth” was built specifically by our forced and exploited labor/blood and it’s ridiculous that we are treated this way.

I appreciate your questions, kind words and understanding.
