Anonymous - Why don't some black people agree with reparations?
Muhammad Rasheed - Some American Descendants of Slavery (ADOS) don’t agree with the fight for Reparatory Justice for 400 yrs of anti-Black systemic racism because they are genuinely afraid it will cause a race war that we won’t recover from. This debate between Ta-Nehisi Coates vs Shelby Steele demonstrates that fact, as Steele loses his cool at the end and shows the fear of triggered white racists at the root cause of his position.
Other Black people who take the anti-Reparations position do so because they aren’t ADOS, but represent certain classes among the Black immigrant community and wouldn’t benefit from the ADOS Reparations payout anyway. They also thrive within the white supremacist system and partner with the traditions of discrimination against ADOS.
