The Sun-man is an action figure created by an impressive and driven mother for the love of her young son. Ms Yla Eason was disturbed when her son told her he couldn't aspire to the greatness achieved by his favorite cartoon character/action figure He-Man because that character was white and he was black. In her efforts to counter this horrid form of brainwashing, she searched in vain to find an African American superhero toy in any store in the mid-1980s. In the end, she had to make one herself, and thus was born "SUN-MAN!! THE GREATEST SUPERHERO OF ALL!!" as his tagline says. Ms Eason developed a very successful and competitive toy company out of this deal that's still going strong as far as I know. Some of the guys on the www.blacksuperhero.com message boards started a "Draw Your Own Version of Sun-Man Contest" and this story was my contribution. I cast my design as the true Sun-man with every other contestant as the cloned, evil Sun-men. It was a hoot.
This story was developed as fan-fiction, a labor of love, and is not intended for profit, or as any kind of competition against the company that owns it. I only wish for other fans of the character to enjoy the story.
